Peachy Keen

Arc Necklace in Peach Moonstone, layered with the Conch Necklace.
Happy Friday, Friends! Today I wanted to introduce you to another gemstone used in the Keltie Leanne jewellery line-up -- peach moonstone. The response most customers have when I tell them that the lovely gemstone they're eying up in one of our designs is peach moonstone is, "I didn't know that existed!" While most of the colors in our latest collection center around oceanic blues and greens, I really felt that peach moonstone screamed summer, and fit in perfectly with the beachy vibe of the collection. It reminds me of sun kissed skin, warm sand, and the pretty interior of sea shells.

Moonstone is characterized by its opalescence, or milky iridescence. This gemstone is one of the birthstones for June (in addition to pearl), and was historically thought by the Romans to be born of solidified rays of the moon. Moonstone can be found in countries that include Sri Lanka, Burma, India and Madagascar.

Peach moonstone is one of the colored varieties of moonstone (which most people are familiar with for being a blue-ish white) - there is also grey moonstone (like in our Moon Drop Earrings), rainbow moonstone and blue moonstone - to name a few. Peach moonstone is characterized by soothing, feminine energy, and is a powerful stone for our intuition.
