Bring On The Bling

Bring On The Bling PosterHey there lovelies! I wanted to let you know about an exciting event that I'll be taking part in this weekend, at Yaletown's Fine Finds Boutique

Fine Finds is hosting a very special "Bring On The Bling" jewellery event, featuring over a dozen local designers, champagne and cookies, plus 25% off all jewellery. I may need to leave my own credit card at home because really, it's a bit of a rarity to see so many gorgeous, handcrafted designs on sale in the same place - not to mention the fact that it's always special to meet the designer and hear the story behind the jewellery you wear. Really, what better excuse to shop for something sparkly? Let's just say if you're anything like me, there's never a reason not to peruse lovely gems while drinking a bit of bubbly, so mark your calendar already!

I will be at the store on Sunday from noon until 6 pm, but there is a great line up of other talented designers who will be on location at Fine Finds starting today, including Lisbeth, Wolf Circus, Mikel Grant and Olivia Solie Jewelry - just to name a few.

See you this weekend, and happy Friday!

Lovely Labradorite

Polished labradorite gemstones
Labradorite is one of my all-time favorite gemstones. Its iridescent colors and the way this gemstone glows different shades depending on how the light hits, makes labradorite seem almost magical.

Labradorite is named after its origin of the peninsula of Labrador, Newfoundland, though it can also be found in Australia, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the U.S. Labradorite is said to impart spiritual strength upon it's wearer, and many believe it can provide a barrier against negative influences and reduce anxiety. While at first glimpse this stone is a grey-ish shade, in the light this gemstone reveals a shimmer of color - often blues and greens - known as "labradorescence" and which has been compared to the beautiful aurora borealis, or Northern Lights. Here are a few Keltie Leanne pieces that incorporate this gorgeous gem:

Labradorite Bracelet
Dino Bracelet - $90

Labradorite Fringe Necklace
Luce Necklace - $160

Labradorite and Gold Chain Earrings
Glowworm Earrings - $85

Do you have a favorite gemstone that you'd love to see incorporated into future designs?
