Ametrine Dream

Beautiful ametrine is the fusion of two different types of quartz - citrine and amethyst - in a single gemstone. Zones of purple and yellow (or orange) are determined by a temperature gradient across the crystal during it's formation, which causes more or less oxidization of iron within the stone.

Ametrine is exceptionally rare, as nearly all commercially available ametrine is mined in Bolivia, at the Anahi Mine. Artificial ametrine can also be created, through the differential heat treatment of amethyst.

Metaphysically speaking, ametrine takes the properties of both amethyst and citrine: amethyst is said to promote healing, while citrine has calming benefits. Ametrine gemstone is also thought to aid creativity and dispel negative energy.

Here is some of our favorite Keltie Leanne jewellery featuring this unique gem:

Daybreak Bracelet - $70

Daybreak Earrings - $65

Indra Necklace - $115
